Creative Connection Trust Commemorates Mahanayak Uttam Kumar's Birth Centenary with Grand Tribute Evening

Celebrating the enduring legacy of Bengali cinema’s undisputed superstar, Creative Connection Trust successfully organized Grand Evergreen Uttam – A Memorable Evening in honor of Mahanayak Uttam Kumar’s birth centenary (1926–1980). The tribute gathering brought together veteran actors, playback singers, media personalities, and cinema enthusiasts to pay homage to an icon whose charm, versatile performances, and screen presence continue to influence generations of Indian film artists.

The commemorative event showcased Uttam Kumar's massive contribution to Indian cinematic history through a curated blend of musical performances, personal anecdotes, and heartfelt tributes. The evening’s musical segment served as a centerpiece, taking the audience on a nostalgic journey through classic soundtracks that defined the golden age of Bengali and Indian parallel cinema.

An accomplished ensemble of musical performers and vocalists—including Pinkee Das, Jaya Bhattacharya, Nandita Puri, Rupsha Mukherjee, Buddhaa, Sulagna Banerjee, Manab Bagchi, Debika Chakraborty, Anurag Moriya, Sudipto Chakraborty, Nisha Chakraborty, Soumyajit Roy Barman, Rimi, S. Raja, Jayanti Chatterjee, Malabika Narayan, Bipasa Bhowmik, Runa, and the Arunima Roy Dance Somangka group—rendered hit numbers associated with the late legend's most iconic films.

The centenary gathering welcomed Dr. Aneel Kashi Murarka as a special guest alongside several distinguished artists from the entertainment fraternity. Notable creative personalities in attendance included actor-director Paalavi Chatterjee, actor-singer Piloo Vidyarthi, playback singer Sirsshhaa Rakshit, actor Babloo Keshto Mukherjee, actor-singer Shiladitya Banerjee, renowned singer Binayak Sehanobis, and anchor-singer Mahua Ray. The event was anchored by hosts Chaitali Bagchi and Ayan Chakraborty.
