Devendra Fadnavis, Ashish Shelar, and Ameet Satam Join Tiranga Yatra as India Enters Its 80th Year of Independence

Ahead of Independence Day, the vibrant spirit of patriotism reverberated through the streets of Mumbai as citizens joined key political leaders for the Tiranga Yatra. Marking India's entry into its 80th year of independence, the event transformed the scenic Worli Coastal Road Promenade into a sea of saffron, white, and green. Citizens from all walks of life gathered under a unified vision, demonstrating collective pride and reaffirming their dedication to the progress of the nation.

The high-profile gathering saw prominent figures marching alongside the public, holding the national flag. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis led the procession, accompanied by Ashish Shelar, Cabinet Minister of Electronics, IT, AI & Cultural Affairs, and MLA Ameet Satam. Their presence highlighted a strong stance on national solidarity, connecting past historical sacrifices with the forward-looking development trajectory of modern India and Maharashtra.

Addressing the energetic gathering, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis drawn a poetic parallel between the vast Indian Ocean alongside the promenade and the overwhelming human ocean of flag-bearers. In a moving speech, he honored the revolutionaries and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the flag, reminding everyone of the historic midnight pledge of August 15, 1947. He emphasized that today's true revolution lies in shifting from the historic "Quit India" movement to a constructive mission of "Build a Developed India."

Fadnavis also focused on India’s impressive socio-economic milestones under global leadership, pointing out the country's transformation into the world's fourth-largest economy. Highlighting advancements in technology and space exploration—such as lunar south pole landings and pioneer commercial space flights—he urged the younger generation to stay united beyond caste, creed, or artificial divisions. He expressed strong confidence that with determination and social harmony, India will firmly achieve its goal of becoming a fully developed nation by 2047.

Joining the sentiment, MLA Ameet Satam noted the special significance of hosting the Tiranga Fest along the coastal landmark as the country steps into its 80th year of self-rule. He noted that economic growth and civic pride must go hand in hand, reinforcing that the momentum behind India's development is stronger than ever.
