Nainital Police has deployed high security, CCTV surveillance, continuous patrolling, and dedicated crowd control measures for the ongoing Maa Nanda-Sunanda Devi Mahotsav 2026.
In view of the ongoing Maa Nanda-Sunanda Devi Mahotsav 2026, the Nainital Police department has put comprehensive security, crowd management, and traffic regulation measures in place across the mela region. Following the Pran Pratishtha rituals of Goddesses Nanda and Sunanda, a heavy influx of devotees has arrived in Nainital to seek blessings, prompting authorities to maintain heightened vigilance.
Under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nainital, Dr. Manjunath T.C., police personnel have been deployed across key areas to oversee the smooth flow of pilgrims and tourists. The security strategy is being actively supervised by SP Crime Dr. Jagdish Chandra, SP Sanchar Shri Rewadhar Mathpal, Circle Officer (CO) Nainital Smt. Anjana Negi, and Circle Officer (CO) Bhowali Shri Ravikant Semwal.
To ensure seamless coordination and maintain safety, the district police force has integrated several key measures throughout the festival grounds:
Setup of dedicated Control Rooms and Lost-and-Found Centers for public assistance.
24/7 CCTV camera monitoring across the entire mela area to keep continuous watch.
Specialized crowd management protocols to enable convenient and orderly darshan for devotees.
Regular mobile police patrolling to keep traffic movement smooth and prevent congestion.
Focused safety procedures specifically targeted at supporting visiting families, elderly devotees, and tourists.
In addition to security deployments, Nainital Police issued an advisory appealing to all visiting devotees and tourists to remain cautious regarding their personal belongings and valuables. Authorities have requested parents and guardians to keep a close watch on children and senior citizens while adhering strictly to safety guidelines issued by local administration.
