Balaji Telefilms Ltd Partners with YouTube to Launch 5 Exclusive Premium Original Shows

In a landmark development for the media and entertainment industry, Ektaa R Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with YouTube to launch five original, premium digital series spanning 200 episodes. Produced in 4K resolution, the shows are tailored for today’s digital-first viewers and designed to cater heavily to the rapidly expanding connected TV (CTV) audience worldwide.

Under this strategic deal, Ektaa R Kapoor will lead the creative direction and retain full ownership of the intellectual property (IP), while YouTube manages global distribution and monetisation through targeted advertising and brand sponsorships. This hybrid structure allows Balaji Telefilms to combine television-scale production values with YouTube's massive worldwide reach, signaling a bold shift toward ad-supported digital models for high-budget scripted content.

The upcoming content slate blends fresh narratives with eagerly anticipated sequels to popular franchises. Confirmed titles include Haq Se Season 2, Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai Season 4, and Phir Pyar Ki Yeh Kahani Suno, alongside two additional original projects currently under active development. Viewers can access updates, behind-the-scenes content, and trailers on the @TheIndianKDrramas YouTube channel ahead of the rollouts planned around the festive season.

Expressing her excitement about the venture, Joint Managing Director Ektaa R Kapoor highlighted that storytelling is rooted in emotional connections, and YouTube provides an extraordinary avenue to reach global audiences in innovative ways. Echoing similar enthusiasm, Gunjan Soni, Managing Director of YouTube India, noted that the future of television centers on offering high-quality, on-demand content on home screens, making this collaboration a crucial milestone for the evolution of digital viewing.
