It Was a Nightmare for Me": Actor Ujjwal Sharma Breaks Silence on Sanchita Ugale Controversy and Professional Losses

Breaking his silence following weeks of intense public scrutiny and online backlash, television actor Ujjwal Sharma has spoken out regarding the tragic demise of his former Saajan Ghar co-star, Sanchita Ugale. The actor revealed that the sudden loss of a colleague, coupled with the immediate vilification he faced on social media, turned his life upside down overnight. Describing the ordeal as an absolute nightmare, Sharma shared how his personal and professional worlds collapsed simultaneously when unverified allegations began circulating online, subjecting him and his family to endless harassment and death threats.

Recalling their initial acquaintance, Sharma explained that he and Sanchita became friends while working together on the television series Saajan Ghar, where they shared extensive screen time as lead actors. During their time on set, Ugale had opened up about struggling emotionally following a difficult personal breakup. Sharma states that he consistently tried to support and motivate her, encouraging her to focus on her health and career momentum. However, as her health continued to decline, production schedules necessitated a temporary break and eventually her replacement on the show.

Addressing the public controversy surrounding a financial dispute, Sharma clarified the context of a heavily circulated text exchange involving a minor food bill. He explained that months after losing regular contact, he received unexpected and aggressive messages demanding a transfer of three thousand rupees from a previous group outing. Although taken aback by the sudden hostility, he immediately transferred the amount to clear any confusion. Sharma noted that the screenshots circulating online present a selective and one-sided view of their interactions, emphasizing that he has submitted all complete, unedited conversation records to the investigating authorities.

The public trial without due process has exacted a heavy toll on Sharma's budding career. Prior to the controversy, he had reached a significant milestone in his five-year career by signing a contract for Sayoneee, a high-profile Star Plus show produced by acclaimed creators Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta. In the wake of the public outcry, leaked contact details, and relentless trolling, Sharma lost the Star Plus project alongside two major music videos. He expressed deep sorrow over losing the opportunity to work with top-tier producers after years of relentless hard work in the industry.

Maintaining that he has fully cooperated with law enforcement throughout their inquiries, Sharma shared that he provided transparent statements detailing their professional association, past conversations, and all relevant context to assist the ongoing police investigation. He voiced concern over how quickly public opinion can destroy an individual's reputation and livelihood before official facts are established, noting the immense distress inflicted upon his parents due to harassing phone calls and invasive scrutiny.

As the official investigation continues to unfold, Ujjwal Sharma remains hopeful that a thorough inquiry will bring the complete truth to light. While grappling with the loss of major professional projects and the lingering judgment of the public eye, he reiterates the necessity for responsible behavior on digital platforms, urging people to refrain from premature judgments and allow the legal process to reach its rightful conclusion.
