Pratibha Ranta Goes All Guns Blazing as Pratibha Lahiri in The Revolutionaries Promo; Nikkhil Advani Praises Her Soulful Performance

Actor Pratibha Ranta is set to step into one of her most intense roles to date with the upcoming historical series The Revolutionaries, directed and created by Nikkhil Advani. In a newly released promo, the makers formally introduced Ranta as Pratibha Lahiri, an unshakable freedom fighter portrayed armed and resolute in the high-stakes narrative of pre-independence India. The series is scheduled to make its global debut on Amazon Prime Video on September 11.  

Set against the backdrop of India's independence movement, The Revolutionaries centers on a brave cadre of young historical figures who believed that organized armed resistance was an essential response to colonial rule. In her portrayal of Pratibha Lahiri, Ranta embraces a stark shift from her previous screen roles, presenting a character grounded in conviction, emotional strength, and fierce determination. The promo introduces her with the line, "Aandhiyon se datt kar ladi, pahaad bann kar khadi rahi, inquilaab ki awaaz bani! Gadar machaane sabse aage - Sarfire, The Revolutionaries."  

Director Nikkhil Advani publicly validated Ranta’s dedication to the project, praising her immersive performance with the message, "The world will see your heart and soul." Ranta’s screen presentation reflects a deliberate effort to step outside familiar performance boundaries, featuring period-accurate styling and a calm, resolute demeanor that emphasizes character depth over flashy dramatics.

The series brings Ranta together with an ensemble cast, including Rohit Saraf as Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Bhuvan Bam as Rash Behari Bose, Gurfateh Pirzada as Bagha Jatin, alongside Jason Shah, Paoli Dam, and Tota Roy Chowdhury. Inspired by Sanjeev Sanyal’s book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom, the project is produced under the banner of Emmay Entertainment by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani.  

With its release fast approaching, The Revolutionaries marks an important milestone in Pratibha Ranta's evolving career trajectory. Premiering globally in Hindi along with multiple regional and international language dubs, the project aims to shine a light on the personal sacrifices and relentless spirit of India’s young freedom fighters.
