Marvel Studios Announces Global Re-Release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Ahead of ‘Doomsday’

Marvel Studios has officially announced that Avengers: Endgame will return to global theaters, including India, on September 25, 2026. The 2019 blockbuster remains the highest-grossing foreign feature in Indian box office history, having sold over 2.5 million advance tickets prior to its initial opening day.

The strategic timing of the theatrical run precedes the premiere of Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for December 18, 2026. Both films are directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The re-release also highlights the cinematic arc of Robert Downey Jr., who concluded his portrayal of Iron Man in Endgame and returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the antagonist Doctor Doom in Doomsday.

Rather than featuring a recut narrative, the re-release presents the original 2019 film under Disney’s new "Infinity Vision" certification. This designation marks high-spec theatrical formats across select venues, targeting over 300 premium screens globally with enhanced visual and audio delivery standards.

During its original theatrical run, Avengers: Endgame generated approximately $2.79 billion worldwide, maintaining its position as the second highest-grossing film of all time. A brief theatrical push was previously conducted in mid-2019 featuring bonus footage during its initial box office competition with Avatar.

Industry trade analysts anticipate strong attendance across Indian metropolitan circuits during the September window, particularly driven by moviegoers who missed the original IMAX and large-format screenings.
