Republican Party of India (A) and Mahadev Naad Foundation Celebrate Dahi Handi 2026 with Grand Fervour

The Republican Party of India (Athawale) in association with the Mahadev Naad Foundation organized a grand Dahi Handi celebration to mark the festival of Janmashtami 2026. The event brought together local communities, youth groups, and competitive Govinda teams for a day centered on traditional festivities, music, and cultural unity.

The celebration saw the presence of several dignitaries and public figures, including Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, Sangeeta Kapoor, Gaurav Sharma, Seema Ramdas Athawale, Hema Sharma, Rashmi Aarya, Devanggana Chauhan, Ankkitha Maithy, Gurpreet Kaur Chadha, and Vishal Srivastav.

Addressing the gathering, Ramdas Athawale highlighted that Dahi Handi serves as a significant cultural event that fosters community harmony, collective effort, and traditional faith. Sangeeta Kapoor and Gaurav Sharma also addressed the audience, emphasizing the values of teamwork, determination, and cultural preservation that define the annual festival.

A major highlight of the event was the cash prize pool totaling ₹11,19,199, which drew spirited participation from multiple Govinda squads competing to form human pyramids and break the traditional butter pot.

The event concluded with musical performances and formal recognitions for the participating teams, reflecting the enduring cultural appeal and celebratory energy of Janmashtami across the region.
