Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: James Ghadge Replaces Aaditya Gupta as Kabir Following Two-Year Leap

Rajan Shahi’s long-running and immensely popular television drama Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus has recently introduced a major narrative shift following a two-year leap. The storyline progression brings fresh character arcs, altered family dynamics, and updated plotlines designed to maintain strong viewer engagement. Along with narrative changes, the leap has ushered in notable casting shifts, including the replacement of familiar faces in established roles.  

Among the key updates is the recasting of Kabir, a character previously played by actor Aaditya Gupta. The role has officially been taken over by actor James Ghadge. The sudden transition came as a surprise to loyal viewers, given that recasting occurred shortly after the show introduced its latest narrative leap.  

Production sources clarify that Aaditya Gupta’s exit was due solely to unavoidable circumstances rather than professional disagreements or creative conflict. The actor and the production house retain a cordial working relationship, with reports suggesting potential future collaborations on upcoming projects.  

James Ghadge brings a wide range of industry experience to the role of Kabir. Having started his career as a child artist, Ghadge built a steady portfolio across television genres starting in 2015. His screen credits include historical and mythological television dramas such as Razia Sultan, Baal Krishna, Porus, Imlie, Punyashlok Ahilyabai, and Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan.  

Beyond television, Ghadge has expanded into feature films and digital projects. He appeared in theatrical releases including Gumraah (2023) and OMG 2 (2023), followed by roles in web projects like Badi Heroine Banti Hai and Pehla Pyaar: Less Than 1% Chance.  

As Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai continues its run across television and streaming platforms, the addition of James Ghadge as Kabir marks an exciting new phase in the ongoing storyline.
